Pale cream-white limestone laid in random rubble coursing forms long serpentine tiers of retaining wall, terracing a steep olive-covered hillside above a narrow village road. The mature olives were preserved and built around, including one ancient gnarled specimen at the gate, where a wrought-iron entrance hangs on a cut-stone pier.
Above the walls sits the finished villa with its pool on its own stone-walled platform. The set documents the full arc from raw excavation to the completed estate.
